We enter the Grand Teton National Park after a night spent around the south entrance of Yellowstone.

The rain has replaced the snow.

The park is much smaller than Yellowstone and also less famous but hopefully less crowded!

After the visitor center to get a map, we decide to go for a ride on a 4×4 road. The road passes on the east of the park and there are only 2 or 3 little wet difficulties.

We thought that by avoiding the principal roads we would encounter a lot of wildlife…. But not at all. Only a group of pronghorns at a good distance.

And this rain, still here, does not offer any better visibility.

Finally it is on the main road that we meet 2 of our favorite animals so far: a coyote and a moose. The first seems to be hunting the second, no matter the slight difference of weight…

We decide to take a small road to go out of the park. A car is stopped on the side. They seem to be looking to something. But what? On the ground? Oh no, in the big bush just in front of us!

The night is coming so we drive to Jackson Hole for a good dinner and then to the Elk Refuge for our night spot. We arrive around 2.300 meters. It is cold and dark. And in the place where we wanted to stay there is a group, not very welcoming. They say to us that there are a lot of other places to park for the night. Hum, ok. They add that there should not be snowing during the night, so no worries for the road tomorrow. Alright.

We drive back a few kilometers and find finally a good place to stay for the night.

But in the morning, surprise:

The landscapes are amazing and the wildlife is enjoying the first snow.

A group of pronghorns. A race. And some coyotes. The hunt begins!

One of the coyotes runs away with the head…

It is time for us to hit the road to Salt Lake City.
