Yesterday we drove to the north, having in mind to enjoy an excursion on the Saint-Laurent river. We arrived around 18h in Rivière-du-Loup and spent the night on the docks with a pretty nice view on the rising sun.

In the morning, we arrived too late for the 9h30 departure and we booked the tickets for the 13h30 excursion (good idea as the sun appeared at noon and offered great colors on the water).

The cruise was on a big ship (therefore with pretty much people)… we avoided the risk to be overturned by a whale (that happened in Alaska last year) but we lost a bit of privacy (the excursions on a zodiac are not available from Rivière-du-Loup, so there was no other choice).

During these 3 hours cruise on the Saint-Laurent river, we met several belugas (the ones we thought we have seen the day before from the land), seals and finally the whales we were waiting for !!
